RACF Influenza vaccination requirements by 30 May 2021

From 30 May 2021 everyone entering a residential aged care facility needs to be vaccinated against influenza, This applies to all staff, visitors, health practitioners, volunteers and contractors.

Influenza vaccination protects staff and provides an additional layer of protection for high-risk residents.

Both Government funded and private influenza vaccines are available to the community from BLUEWATER MEDICAL.

2021 FLU VACCINATION CLINICS here at Bluewater Medical Practice.

We have received the Over 65yr Govt Flu vaccines.

Please phone our reception 07 4778 6444 and make your appointment from Monday 19 April 2021

FLU Vaccination Clinics will be held on MONDAY and THURSDAY each week.

IMPORTANT: If you have had a COVID-19 Vaccination, please phone our reception 07 4778 6444 to verify the timing schedule between having COVID-19 vaccination and 2021 FLU vaccination.

Those patients eligible:

• All adults aged over 65 years
• Pregnant women at any stage of the pregnancy
• ATSI aged over 15 years
• ATSI Children aged over 6 months with medical conditions predisposing them to severe influenza
• People 6 months and over with medical conditions such as severe asthma, lung or heart disease, low immunity or diabetes that can lead go complications from influenza

The 2021 Strains of Influenza:

• an A/Victoria/2570/2019 (H1N1)pdm09-like virus
• an A/Hong Kong/2671/2019 (H3N2)-like virus
• a B/Washington/02/2019-like (B/Victoria lineage) virus
• a B/Phuket/3073/2013-like (B/Yamagata lineage) virus
